Why Everyone Needs an Estate Plan

Estate planning isn’t just for the ultra-wealthy — it’s for everyone.

You don’t need something overly complex, but the last thing you want is no plan at all.

In many states, if you die without a will, half of your assets could automatically go to your kids.

Now imagine your spouse trying to get through retirement with only half the assets you’ve both worked a lifetime to save.

Having a will is especially important if you have children.  You need to name a guardian — not leave that decision to the courts. The last thing you want is family conflict over who should raise your kids.

A lot of people put off estate planning because they don’t want to think about it, but doing nothing won’t protect your family — it creates confusion.

A good estate plan simply makes your wishes clear and enforceable.  It saves your family from stress, expense, and potential conflict at a time when they’ll already have enough to deal with.

It doesn’t have to be fancy — it just has to be done.

Brandon founded Coastline Complete Wealth in June 2023 with a clear purpose: to serve clients better, embrace his role as a fiduciary, and remove conflicts of interest. Since beginning his career in 2010, much of it at a large national firm, he repeatedly asked himself one question—how can this be done better? CCW is the answer to that pursuit. The firm transitioned to a fully independent, SEC-registered investment adviser in December 2025.
